Portugal is looking forward to its 2013 home event

"We expected a little bit more in the Long Distance race on Monday", Americo Sequeira says. He's the Head of Delegation of the Portuguese team in Primiero. "Because we knew more about the region and the terrain, we got nice results in the Middle Distance today."

Sequeira is not only excited about the results of his team, but also excited about what he sees. "The ISF Worlds are a wonderful surprise", he says, "the landscape in this corner of the World is the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life so far." Sequeira is also impressed by the professional organisation of the competitions. "We came here to run, but at the same time to learn for the next ISF World School Championship in Portugal in two years time. What we have seen here will be difficult to top, but we'll try. Il will be our challenge."

In 2013, in fact, the ISF World School Championship will be carried out at the Algarve in the south of Portugal. The exact competition days are not fixed yet but will be around the end of April. The national Ministry for Education, the Portuguese Orienteering Federation and the School Sport Institutions will support the ISF event.

Orienteering is well known at the Algarve. In 2008, the Veterans Worlds were held there, two years later, the Mountainbike Orienteering specialists crowned their Worlds best in this place. And, of course, training camps are organised regularly.

"Thanks to Primiero, for a wonderful experience", Sequeira says. "And, please, join us in Portugal in 2013!"
