Bizkaia Sarria Thropy - WRE - Bilbao - March 28-29 A World Ranking Event with four races in 2 days, nice terrains, great atmosphere, music concerts, ... The week before the competition (March 22-27) there will be arranged different trainings in maps with terrains similar to the WOC 2009 in Hungary. The Spanish O-Team will be training in this terrains in order to prepare the most important competition of the year. Website. ****** Spanish Orienteering Championships - Villena (Alicante) - April 9-12 This is the biggest orienteering competition in Spanish, with more than 1.200 runners, 4 official competitions in 3 days (Long, Relays, Sprint, Middle), possibilities to train and compete the week before (April 1-8). Warm and nice weather is almost sure for the competition :-D Website. ****** 5 days of Spain - Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia) - August 11-16 Really nice terrains, official (Long middle sprint long - middle), and non official competitions (Micro-O - Night-O - Mobile-O - Night-O and Canoeing-O). Aguilar de Campoo is 1.000 meters over the sea, and the summer weather is fresh and nice. Its the perfect time for running and tourism in the area. Some Spanish orienteers are arranging the trip from the 5 days of Spain to the WOC 2009 Hungary Cup in order to enjoy the O-summer as best as possible. Website. |
