Øyvin Thon won the long distance (the only individual distance in the "old days") at the World Championships 1979 and 1981. 1983 gave him a silver medal. With his Norwegian team-mates he won the relay 5 times during the period 1981-1989 (WOC was every second year). In his golden years Øyvin Thon ran for IF Sturla. Nowadays his club is Kongsberg OL, and he still is a strong runner. This summer Mr. Thon won class H50-2, among 200 competitors, at O-Ringen in Sweden, Sälen. Large picture of Øyvin Thon.
