After the first day with the night sprint in the historical
center of Peschici MOC moved to the thrilling area of
Foresta Umbra.
There was a competition full with sunshine
but because of strong wind very cold.
Womens competition had 4,8 kilometres and 13 controls, men
had 6,1 km and 17 controls.
In womens race Minna Kaupi, the finnish Worldchampion was
leading only for 10 minutes till Simone Niggli Luder marked
an incredible time.
But Simone told that she had not a
perfect race and prelast starter Helena Jansson used her
chance and took the victory at this race and won the MOC
with 10 seconds.
At the flowers ceremony a big applause to Helena, Simone and
Minna – it was like being present at Worldchampionships
pricegiving.
After the night sprint two brothers from Switzerland –
Daniel Hubmann and Martin have been in the lead but Forest
Umbra changed results. So finally – victory for the
juniorworldchampion Matthias Kyburz, second Baptiste
Rolliere, third Andi Kyburz.
